Welcome and thank you for joining me this weekend.

For years nutrition advice has been quite general, one size fits all type of thing. But we are not all the same, and what works for one person might not work for someone else.

Huge advancements are being made however, so the way we look at the benefits of food, specific to oneself, is changing. Read all about it in this week’s feature Personalised nutrition: the rise of bespoke diets.

Talking of changes in the food industry, who’d have thought 10 years ago that soon we would have such huge choice and variety of vegan, dairy-free, lactose-free, sugar-free, gluten-free and fortified foods? Where there’s demand, there’s investment and a genial R&D team quietly working in a lab to make our wishes a (delicious) reality.

With Easter only a week away, the stockpiling of chocolate in all its mouthwatering forms has started. If up till recently you have not been able to enjoy more than dairy-free dark chocolate for personal or health reasons, rejoice, because these days there are so many varieties of the stuff on offer that you’ll never have to go without. See what’s on the market in Plant-based chocolate taste test: the best brands, bars, sweets and gifts.

And for some positive news this week, we are heading south because Portugal is to scrap VAT on essential foods and boost producer support in new anti-inflation deal. Some inspo there, Mr Sunak…

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

Stef
