I studied Business Administration at the University of Groningen. After my study I have worked in various positions on the interface between government, industry and external stakeholders. The first years of my career were in consultancy at PwC. After that I have had various positions in international food companies, like PepsiCo. In 2011 I became Director of the Dutch Brewers Association. Early 2021 I started as Director General for the FNLI (Dutch Food and Drinks Association). The FNLI is the umbrella organization, representing 500 members in the food processing industry active in 17 different food categories. Key areas of the FNLI are: health, climate, sustainable food chains and economic business climate.
