Dr. Mary Harrington is the Senior Nutritionist with the National Dairy Council (Ireland). She is an expert in communicating evidence-based nutrition messages to a range of stakeholders including health professionals, and consumers.
She has a BSc and PhD in nutritional sciences from University College Cork, with a focus on bone health and osteoporosis. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETHZ), on iron and iodine fortification of foods in Mexico, Thailand and Kenya. For the past 15 years, she has been working in nutrition communications in the food industry in the UK and Australia. In 2022 she returned to her native Ireland to apply her passion for communicating nutrition science for the dairy industry.
