Jamie has been in coffee for over 20 years, working in all aspects from retail through roasting to innovation and import. Moving between commercial and speciality companies, small and multinational he has picked up a broad spectrum of niche understandings that allows him to speak to most audiences in coffee.
He now spends his time visiting farms and producers around the world for DRWakefield, a green bean importer based in London. The last year has seen trips to understand robusta farmers in Vietnam, and Arabica farmers in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Brazil. Those insights and understandings are brought back to roasters and coffee companies to help them see where the strengths of each lie, as well as the challenges each are facing.
Outside of coffee, Jamie has a broader interest in all things food; manufacturing, ethics, and production, as well as brewing, reviving old recipes and of course eating!
