In her role as Director Global Nutrition, Ana is responsible for leading the development and execution of nutrition strategy and portfolio transformation.
Ana has worked in Latin America, North America and Europe. Her international professional experience ranges from working in fast-paced, innovative, multi-nationals (Coca-Cola, Danone, Kraft Heinz and Mead Johnson Nutrition) to conducting research at leading research hospitals and practicing as a Registered Dietician. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts. Ana has also contributed to books and lectured at the University of Indiana, School of Medicine.
Ana completed her Master of Science at the University of Toronto, followed by a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, and an Executive MBA at the Kellogg School of Management – Northwestern University/Schulich School of Business.
Ana’s combined academic and professional experience has given her insight into product innovation and life cycle management, with a focus on the overall business and policy context. Her interests include shaping the global regulatory and policy framework, integrating and translating science into commercial strategy and building relationships with stakeholders including policy makers, investors, civil society, KOLs, academia, rating agencies, etc.
In addition to her career with Kraft Heinz, Ana is Chair of the Nutrition Advisory Board of the NGO Rise Against Hunger and a member of the European Technology Platform ‘Food for Life’ Leadership team. She is an advisor to start-ups, providing strategic guidance and scientific expertise in health and nutrition.
