Jane Ogden

Jane Ogden is Professor of Health Psychology at the University of Surrey where she teaches psychology, nutrition, dietetic, medical and vet students to think more psychologically about physical health. Her research mainly focuses on eating behaviour and weight management and she has published over 220 research papers exploring areas such as the role of distraction and language on food intake, how parenting behaviour influences a child relationship with food, why people under or over eat, how eating behaviour can be changed and why many weight loss interventions fail. She has also written 8 books including ‘The psychology of eating behaviour’, ‘The psychology of dieting’ and ‘The good parenting food guide’. The latter of these is now Free and open access!
