Anne Byrne is a food economist and PhD Candidate in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. Ms. Byrne began her research career studying livestock production and the interactions between ecosystems and agricultural activity. She has since developed expertise in consumer food behavior and food assistance programs. Much of her work focuses on food banks and food pantries, including her recent paper, “The Other Half: An Examination of Monthly Food Pantry Cycles in the Context of SNAP Benefits,” which can be read in Applied Economics Policy & Perspectives.
