The Vegan Society is an education-based membership organisation, formed in 1944, making the charity 77 years old this November. Their mission is to highlight how accessible and affordable the lifestyle is, with its research, events, outreach, campaigns, and policy work.
Prompted by the lack of legal definition for the word ‘vegan’, the Vegan Trademark was introduced in 1990, and can proudly declare to be the oldest labelling scheme of its kind. Available to companies of all sizes, the logo can be seen on thousands of products worldwide including 3,000+ brands in 79 countries, allowing companies to state their products are free from animal ingredients and animal testing.
