Thijs Bosch
Thijs is the CEO of The Protein Brewery, a Dutch fermentation scale-up developing sustainable food ingredients based on mycelium – the root structure of fungi. At The Protein Brewery he is responsible for scaling-up Fermotein®, an innovative ingredient with all essential amino-acids, lots of healthy prebiotics fibers, vitamins & minerals and bioactives. The Protein Brewery recently raised 30M euro in a successful series B round. Moreover they received EFSA approval for Fermotein® in December 2025 as the first-ever novel mycoprotein. The first products containing Fermotein® will enter the EU market in 2026. Thijs is an experienced food ingredients leader with 20 years of experience in specialty ingredients. He managed several ingredient businesses and JV's across Europe and has significant experience with venture investing and working with Foodtech start-ups and scale-ups.
