Dr Tanja Harrison PhD RNutr is a registered nutritionist and the founder and director of The Menopause Larder®. Before embarking on her freelance career Tanja worked as a senior lecturer at a UK university teaching across a wide range of MSc and BSc programmes on topics related to menopause, food and nutrition science, food systems sustainability, behavioural nutrition, public health, the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS), weight management, the gut microbiome and others. During this time, she also undertook some research investigating the links between dietary patterns and symptoms of the menopause, and dietary patterns and cardiometabolic risk factors.
Tanja is no stranger to the challenges that the menopause transition can bring to those working in busy and demanding environments. Due to her own experiences, she founded The Menopause Larder® to dedicate herself full-time to supporting others during this transition and beyond. Her mission is to help women in the perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause to understand which nutrients and foods will ease their journey. Her goal for women is to maintain lifelong health with emphasis on solutions that are good for the planet, too. Her vision is to use food as a link between women’s and planetary health, both at home and globally.
