Matthew brings over 20 years of experience in product development and innovation within the food industry. As Brand & Future Innovation Director at The Compleat Food Group, his role focuses on anticipating future consumer needs, shaping health strategy, leading forward-thinking innovation projects, and delivering innovation across the Group’s portfolio of 12 brands, including Vadasz, Squeaky Bean, Wall’s, Palace Culture, and newly acquired Julienne Bruno.

Matthew joined the business through the acquisition of Winterbotham Darby, where he spent seven years as Head of Inspiration and Product Development. Following the formation of The Compleat Food Group, he became its first Director of Product Development and Innovation, helping to define and scale the Group’s innovation capabilities.

Prior to this, Matthew spent 10 successful years at Marks & Spencer, working across a wide range of categories in various product development roles, building a strong foundation in quality-led food innovation.

Outside of work, Matthew’s passion for food continues — whether cooking for friends and family, exploring new restaurants, or staying active to keep fit. His current favourite products are Vadasz Kimchi and Julienne Bruno’s Superstraccia
