Ali Morpeth Nutrition Consultancy and Advisory
Ali Morpeth is an award winning Registered Public Health Nutritionist (RNutr) working at the intersection of health and sustainability. She works across policy, NGO and responsible business to deliver changes that are win-win for people and planet.
Ali’s specialist area is in capitalizing on the opportunities that arise from drawing the dots between sustainable production and healthy consumption. She has developed the world’s first ever Nutrient and Promotion Profile Model for commercial foods for young children, on behalf of the World Health Organisation. Subsequently, she has worked extensively with OHID, consulting on the nutrition and marketing of children’s food, including advising on the Commercial Babyfood & Drink Guidelines. She is funded by Which? to convene ongoing research and policy to bridge the gap between the
health and sustainability of children’s foods.
In the past, Ali led WWF’s work on sustainable diets, delivered in partnership with Tesco to motivate consumers to make healthier and more sustainable food choices through applying behaviour change trials. Since then, Ali has worked extensively with Sainsbury’s on their healthy and sustainable diets targets and 2030 roadmap, and is also the sustainable diets advisor at Future Food Movement - reaching over 50+ food industry businesses with the the levers for delivering healthier and more sustainable diets to UK citizens. She has also worked for global FMCG companies including Unilever as well as with manufacturing businesses to embed healthy and sustainable diets into industry playbooks.
Ali regularly engages with cross-party MPs and House of Lords via her role as Chair of Food and Nutrition at Children’s Alliance. Ali is also an Affiliate at Fix our Food, an advisor to BiteBack and consultant to Food Foundation, Share Action and Impact on Urban Health. She is a member of All Parliamentary Peer Groups on obesity and child health and regularly talks in the media on the issues of nutrition and sustainable diets. As well as being a RNutr, she has a Masters in Public Health and is a researcher at the University of Leeds, and is actively involved in a number of TUKFS projects including BeanMeals, FIO-FOOD and DIO-FOOD.
