Live Pitch: Sustainable Food Production start-up AgUnity pitch to investors at Food Tech Matters April edition
AgUnity develops and deploys low-cost, digital solutions that integrate remote farming communities into global supply chains.
Powered by blockchain-based technology, AgUnity connects farmers, cooperatives, commodity buyers and commercial partners via an online membership platform. The platform is both a management platform and a marketplace.
Members have digital ID cards and can therefore ensure the reliable sharing of information on product supply and traceability. Members can also buy and sell crops.
The platform provides a safe transaction record system to build efficient digital supply chains from farmer to consumer. Its accountable system works to resolve transparency issues in food supply chains.
AgUnity seeks to reach remote, rural farmers and further include them in the line of trade. One of the ways it does this is by allowing consumers to send a tip to a small-scale farmer through an AgriUT token. Farmers can then use this token towards a range of useful goods and services, the first of which being an AgUnity smartphone.
The next Food Tech Matters event is from 29 – 30 November 2021. To register to pitch at the event, please email tilly.staubyn@foodmatters.co.uk or register interest online here.
