with Mike Hughes and Barbara Bray

How could food and nutrition support the goal of ageing healthily?

Ageing can be framed as a disease that needs to be cured to prevent us from developing other diseases such as dementia, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. However, age is not lost youth, but a new stage of opportunity and strength.

This engaging and informative masterclass will include case studies and activities, lead by experts Barbara Bray, a Food Safety and Nutrition Consultant, PhD Researcher at Centre for Public Health, Belfast and Mike Hughes, Head of Research and Insight at FMCG Gurus.

People over 40 are keen to know what they can change in their current lifestyles to live well for longer, and those with disposable income can choose to improve their diets and healthy quality of life.

Part 1: Mike Hughes will provide an overview of consumer trends and barriers to healthy eating and drinking

Part 2: Barbara Bray will give you guidance on how to design foods appropriately to support healthy ageing and understand where your product fits in the context of a healthy diet
