Azelis opens innovation centre in Mexico City

Food ingredient and chemical distributor Megafarma, owned by Azelis, is opening its first full-service innovation centre in Mexico City.

The centre will boast five industry specific application laboratories for CARE, CASE, Food, Pharma and Plastics, to oversee all stages of the development process, from ideas to final products.

Located in the northern outskirts of Mexico City, the new 10,000 square-foot facility will be managed by Claudia Barrera, Laboratory Director. The application laboratories will focus on product development custom formulations, regulatory compliance, problem solving and sales support for the five sectors.

As well as developping products, the centre will be a hub for virtual and live seminars aimed at customers, interactive formulation workshops and training for the company’s sales team.

In a press release, Azelis summarised the key reasons for opening the facility:

• To demonstrate Azelis’ strategy to provide innovation and sustainable solutions to customers and principals.
• To support all stages of the development process, from concept to final formulation.
• To support Azelis’ commercial partners to develop market solutions for current and future consumer demands.
• To strengthen Azelis’ position in the Americas and supports its vision to be the leader in sales, technology and distribution of specialty chemicals and ingredients in the region.
